The 2026 Velar is available with two powertrains. The first engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder system that delivers 247 horsepower. A mild-hybrid, turbocharged inline-six system is also offered, generating 394 horsepower. Every Velar is equipped with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The 2026 Sport comes with six powertrain options. The entry-level system features a turbocharged 3.0-liter, six-cylinder mild-hybrid unit that produces 355 horsepower. A more powerful version of this engine generates 395 horsepower. The plug-in hybrid turbo V6 generates 454 horsepower and has a 53-mile range. An alternative plug-in hybrid turbocharged V6 is available, delivering 542 horsepower. The mild-hybrid turbo 4.4-liter, V8 system generates 523 horsepower, and the upgraded version of this engine gives you 626 horsepower.
Appearance
The Range Rover Velar has a sleek, contemporary design while still retaining the brand’s signature, squared-off look. It shows off lean, angled contouring and a lower accent line on the sides. At the front, the wide grille connects to the LED-underscored headlights. Flanking the bumper, the air inlets are styled with a pair of chrome accent bars.
The Range Rover Sport is a slightly larger vehicle with a taller profile. The nose is more squared off. The rectangular grille has a low-profile design that is perfectly integrated with the lean, LED-underscored headlights. The bumper features a layered design, and it is flanked by air inlets, bisected by a chrome element.
