Performance

The 2023 Velar continues to have three trims. The first two options benefit from 247 horsepower extracted from an inline-four, turbocharged 2.0-liter engine. The top HSE trim is driven by a 335-horsepower, inline-six, turbocharged 3.0-liter system and features mild-hybrid tech. For all trims, all-wheel drive and an eight-speed auto transmission are standard. In 2022, the S and R-Dynamic S trims were equipped with an air suspension. For 2023, this has been replaced by coil springs. In addition, the off-road cruise control system available in the 2022 trims is now standard in the 2023 Range Rover Velar.

Appearance

The enviable style of the 2022 Range Rover Velar carries forward to the 2023 model year without changes. Its look has a tapered, athletic design thanks to the angled descent of the hood and the upward trend through the side panels. The hood is confident and flat, while the nose has a subtle protrusion. Geometric headlights beautifully accompany the rectangular grille. These headlights are accented by an LED ribbon and sit over flared air vents. The Range Rover Velar is available with 19-inch wheels or larger, heated and power-folding exterior mirrors, a power tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, and other desirable features.

Features

An important update has been made to the Range Rover Velar interior. For the 2023 model year, all trims now have standard heated seats in the front row. Other features of this luxury crossover are unchanged. The base Velar S has wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, driver’s side memory settings, hands-free keyless entry, a Meridian sound system, leather upholstery, parking sensors, blind-spot intervention, and adaptive cruise control. Higher Velar trims may be available with a more advanced sound system, gesture control for the power liftgate, perforated leather material, a digital instrument cluster, and a few other high-end features.
