Performance

The three powertrains available for the 2022 Land Rover Defender are identical to those offered for 2023. Depending on the Defender trim chosen, your new SUV may be powered by a 296-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine or a 395-horsepower, 3.0-liter, mild-hybrid V6. The most powerful engine is a 518-horsepower, supercharged V8, 5.0-liter system. Some trims also have an electronic differential with torque vectoring, an upgraded terrain response system, and an adaptive air suspension system.

Appearance

In 2023, the Defender is now available with a longer wheel-base, which accommodates a third row of seats inside the cabin. The commanding style of the Defender holds steady with its cube-like shape. The grille and lower-front fascia have rectangular styling, and this contrasts with half-circle, LED accents in the headlights. The sides are personalized with tall air intakes and thick molding. The Defender may have standard or optional exterior gear like 22-inch wheels, a tow hitch receiver, a panoramic sunroof, foglights, roof rails, heated and power-folding mirrors, and others.

Features

The 2023 Land Rover Defender sees only one significant update inside the cabin. This is the introduction of a synthetic leather material. Other premium features hold steady. The base Defender trim has cloth upholstery, a dual-zone climate control system, keyless entry, a 10.25-inch display screen, a wireless charging pad, a signal booster, remote monitoring, USB ports, and others. Higher trims add a refrigerated bin, an activity key bracelet, auto steering, a tri-zone climate control system, a digital rear mirror, heated front and rear seats, adaptive cruise control, and more.
