The Land Rover Discovery is offered with two engine choices. Its entry-level engine is a turbo four-cylinder engine that stands up to meet expectations with its production of 296 horsepower. The turbo I-6 engine sets the bar higher with its output of 335 horsepower. Select trims are available with a mild-hybrid powertrain system for improved fuel economy. These engines are both paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The Land Rover Discovery Sport is offered with one powertrain. This is a turbo 2.0-liter, a four-cylinder gas engine with 246 horsepower. Across the trim levels, all options have an automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

Appearance

These Land Rover SUVs have comparable styling with a few standout differences. They both have a tall stance with a squared-off look and a rounded nose. They also have a three-part lower fascia, defined side panels, and LED-underscored headlights. The Discovery Sport is a smaller model. Its lower-front air vents have a flared quality, and the headlights have a single LED light bar that dips down confidently. The Discovery has smooth air vents, and its LED lights have a scalloped look.

Features

One of the most important differences between these two models is the seating capacity. The Land Rover Discovery is offered with an available third row and can accommodate seven to eight passengers.
