2020 Range Rover Velar vs 2019 Range Rover Velar

Serving Union City, GA

Range Rover is the brand to focus on for Union City SUV shoppers who need functionality and crave luxury behind the wheel. The Velar is a compact luxury crossover SUV that entered the scene in 2017, so the 2019 and 2020 versions of the Velar are both mid-generation vehicles. However, there are a few essential differences between these two model years that you should learn about before you hone in on the specific vehicle that you want to make your own.

Performance

The differences begin with the capabilities of the Velar. For 2019 and 2020, the Velar base engine is a 2.0-liter turbo powertrain with all-wheel drive, and it produces 247 horsepower. Both versions also share the option for a 380-horsepower, V6 engine at higher trim levels. For 2019, the other powertrain is a 180-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine. For 2020, the turbo-diesel engine is not available. The Velar SUV's other powertrain for the 2020 model year is a 550-horsepower V8 connected to an auto transmission and all-wheel drive. Select trims for both years have adaptive suspension dampers and an adaptive air suspension system.

Appearance

Almost all aspects of the façade of the Velar for 2019 are identical to the 2020 version's façade. The primary exception is 18-inch wheels for the 2019 Velar S, and these are upgraded to 19-inch wheels for the 2020 version. The sweeping body design and geometric LED headlights are identical. In addition, both are available with equipment like a tow package, up to 22-inch wheels at higher trim levels, a surround-view camera, a power liftgate, auto wipers, a sunroof, heated side mirrors with an auto-dimming feature, and more.

Features

You will not notice any significant differences in interior and safety features between the 2019 and 2020 versions of the Velar. Depending on the trim you prefer, your Velar could have Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Meridian premium sound system, leather material, a navigation system, satellite radio, front and rear parking sensors, a backup camera, auto emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and more.
