What's New for the 2025 Defender?
For Atlanta-area SUV shoppers searching for a rugged utility vehicle that delivers a luxury driving experience, the 2025 Defender is difficult to beat. This SUV is available as a two-door or four-door model with seating for five. A three-row version with an extended wheelbase is also available.
In 2025, the Defender debuts the Octa trim level at the top of its lineup. This version comes with a twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers 636 horsepower. It also has hydraulically linked dampers, a dynamic drive mode, an active exhaust system, upgraded braking capabilities, all-terrain tires, an under-body metallic plate, and an air spring suspension system.
The other engines offered for lower trim levels are unchanged. These include a 296-horsepower, turbo four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine and a 395-horsepower, turbo V6, 3.0-liter unit. These engines are available all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission for all 2025 trim levels. Select trims also have an electronic active differential, drive and traction modes, and an adaptive air suspension system.
The Defender's design is unchanged for the 2025 model year. Like the related Range Rover and Discovery models, it has a tall, boxy shape with solid ground clearance. The sides have uniquely flared fenders and a tall air vent near the front wheels. The grille is innovative, with a series of molded rectangular elements stacked from top to bottom. The rectangular headlights have a half-circle LED accent light.
The entry-level Defender S comes with roof rails, keyless entry, a panoramic roof, a dual-zone auto climate control system, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, an 11.4-inch infotainment system screen, lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, a 360-degree camera, and several additional features. Higher Defender trims also have ambient lights, a digital rear mirror, heated and cooled front seats with memory functions, an upgraded climate control system, a head-up display, a heated windshield, leather upholstery, and other enhancements.
